The What, How, Why and When of
Thermal Imaging

Hello MOT fam – I had mentioned to some of you that I had a thermal scan coming up and everyone has been very intrigued about how it works and why I’m choosing this so figured I’d share more! My goal here is to share my experience, educate on what thermal imaging is and does and highlight benefits. Next week we will get into more of a comparison related to mammograms vs thermography. But 1st key piece of info – Thermography can assess multiple types of heat, physiological processes and functions throughout the body. This goes far beyond screening for breast cancer!

Infrared Imaging is a neurovascular, functional, physiological evaluation tool.

These images capture temperature variations portrayed in a color pallet consistent with the colors of the rainbow. White-red is the highest temperature and black-violet is the lowest temperature. The hypothalamus in the brain regulates the temperature and blood supply to every muscle, organ and gland. Changes in blood flow to a body part produces a corresponding temperature response consistent with how that body part is being affected. Infrared Imaging captures the autonomic functional and dysfunctional state of multiple systems of the body with each image.

Thermal imaging was FDA approved in 1982 and is an unsurpassed, safe and noninvasive cancer/disease screening technique.

Thermal imaging can detect signs of breast cancer up to ten years earlier than is possible using mammography.

Inflammation and other conditions can immediately be detected as well as periodontal disease or infection that may go unnoticed by x-ray, which is incredibly important to detect early when it comes to heart health and breast health. Here is a partial list of what can be tested/detected:

  • Breast Issues
  • Artery Conditions
  • Vein Conditions
  • Inflammatory Pain
  • Nerve Damage
  • Pain
  • Pre-Diabetic Screening
  • Dental/Periodontal
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Sports Injuries
  • Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Chronic Immune Deficiency
  • Arthritis
  • and much more

As you can imagine, this could also give us tons of clues as to where to treat with myofascial release to reduce inflammation, improve circulation and give the body a higher chance of dealing with restrictions, asymmetries or issues.

• No radiation
• No pain
• Early detection
• Detects more than cancer
• FDA approved since 1982

I selected to do my head and torso so my screening included finding on my cranium, sinuses, neck, thyroid, breasts, spine, pelvic organs and torso. This also included a consult with a doctor to go over my results and a subsequent home program with support for my thyroid, corrections for pelvic and postural alignment and some exercises for my jaw. Breasts were clear but they also recommended a repeat screen in 3-6 months since this was my first and we have no comparisons.

Overall, the process was very easy, felt thorough and informed with lots of resources and information provided. Pleas reply with any questions you might have. I strongly recommend Patrice Zenz and you can click HERE to go to her website.  You can also search for thermal imaging centers near you.

As Always, for your health,
