Our mental and emotional health is just as important as and actually heavily influences our physical health. This week, I want to talk about one aspect of this that has been a very valuable lesson for me to learn and something I still have to remind myself of.

Look for rhythms and seasons rather than constantly scrambling for that elusive balance. This is best if done with daily, weekly, monthly and yearly rhythms in mind. When you take the time to think through this, you’ll likely realize areas where lots of time and energy is being spent unnecessarily. For example, one of my weekly rhythms is meal planning on either Saturday or Sunday. This takes time but saves me so much mental energy and planning throughout the week that it is well worth it. It also gives my family the opportunity to be involved which creates more flow and cooperation throughout the week. Please reach out if you’d like more resources on rhythms or planning.
