Are you noticing added tension through our your body? Do you feel like you simply can’t relax? Try this technique to check in with your body, relax your muscles, softening into yourself.

Progressive muscle relaxation can be done daily, or as often as you are feeling you need it. Find a comfortable place to sit or lay down, close down your eyes and take a few relaxing breaths.

Begin to tighten one area of your body, tighten and hold 5-10 seconds, relaxing and softening. Then move to another area of your body repeating a hold and relax pattern. Working head to toe works well for many. Once you have scanned your body tightening your muscles, add it all together and tighten everything, holding and the softening.

Notice the changes in tension within your system even after a few minutes of contracting and relaxing. A lot of times we do not know we are bracing, and need to let go more often then we are through the day. Cheers to a taking care of your self, now go let go of your tension.
