Cosmetic Acupuncture for the Whole Body
Acupuncture enhances blood circulation, promoting oxygen and nutrient delivery to the skin giving it a healthier glow. Collagen is stimulated by the acupuncture needles, which is needed as it provides structure to the skin. The development of wrinkles and sagging skin can be attributed to the decrease in collagen production as we age. By supporting collagen production and muscle tone, cosmetic acupuncture helps with skin elasticity, scar formation reduction, clearer and balanced skin.
A session may involve the use of a micro roller, cupping, gua-sha and/or the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the face and body helping to relax muscles. Reduced muscle tension can contribute to a more relaxed and less wrinkled appearance. The lymphatic system is also stimulated promoting the removal of toxins and reducing fluid retention which can result in reduced puffiness and even skin tone.

Ilse Hernandez-Allen has been a licensed massage therapist, acupuncturist and doula for over 20 years, with specialties in women and infant health, wellness and pain management. She has extensive training in pregnancy massage, craniosacral therapy, cupping, Gua Sha, Thai and structural integration. We are thrilled to have her offering her craniosacral and acupuncture services at MOT. An avid learner, Ilse is pursuing her CLC (certified lactation consultant) certification in an effort to support breastfeeding babies as well as training in functional medicine. Ilse is mom to two amazing children, enjoys cooking, belly-dancing, playing the piano and bass guitar , traveling and hiking.

Mom & Baby Craniofacial Therapy (CFT) - 60 minutes
A fusion based on myofascial therapy and craniosacral therapy, the CFT approach is based on the
Gillespie Method.
A gentle form of bodywork that support and helps with pain, movement, brain health, gut health,
coordination, vision, allergies, breastfeeding and much more.
This form of bodywork is most beneficial for infants and young children, but also for teens and
adults.
Therapeutic Breast Massage – 60 minutes
Therapeutic Breast Massage Therapy is a protocol that increases milk flow, relieves engorgement,
clogged, and/or infected milk ducts. Focus is on one breast. Treatment for scar tissue due to
surgery and/or augmentation is benefitted. Nutrition and herbal suggestions may be
recommended.
Breastfeeding Support – 60 minutes
Are you new to breastfeeding and need support. I assist you in observing feedings, latch
positioning, breast health, pumping, hand expression and instruction of baby massage for
breastfeeding.
Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture (10 sessions) – 60 minutes
Using fine needles placed on specific areas of the face to assist in collagen production, reduction of
fine lines, wrinkles, crows feet, TMJ and facial tension. Gua Sha and cupping may be utilized.
Body acupuncture points are used as well based on your individual constitution.
