Where did the year go??

Have you been noticing that things have been moving very quickly? Feel like you can’t catch up or keep up? Overstimulated? Let’s throw some holidays and family into the mix! While we know the holidays are a great time to get together with family and get some quality to reconnect, I’m sure we can all agree this adds to our plate of responsibilities and stress.
While this stress is not life threatening, our bodies do not differentiate stress any differently than the everyday stress of opening up our work email inbox to find 50+ emails or being chased by a bear in the woods. No matter the case, stress sets off the alarms in our brains and this is why our bodies respond with muscle tension, high blood pressure, headaches, upset stomachs, or however else your body responds to stress. BUT not to worry! We wanted to pop in and give you the tools to know your body and empower and encourage you to RESET.
The vagus nerve is the longest cranial nerve in the body and one of the main nerves of your parasympathetic nervous system. When the vagus nerve is stimulated this can cause anxiety and a series of unpleasant symptoms. But like a computer, we can take the time to reset and get things back on track.
Check out this Hum and Swallow technique that is amazing at calming the nervous system, syncing the cranial nerves (which calms the nervous system), giving your eyes something to focus on and the vibration can help expand releases throughout the body allowing your body to relax.

While things are going so fast, please take a moment to sit and check in with yourself. Notice if you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed. It is okay to slow down and nobody can do this for you. Fill your cup, reset as many times as you need. Healing is a marathon not a race. We are in it for the long haul, and we are here to support you.
