Hi guys!

Monique here to educate you on why adding cupping to your treatment plan can be super beneficial and create more lasting results. I could share so much about what cupping does and how it effects the body, but what I really want to delve into is how I can use cupping as a tool to give you more value from your massage treatments and greater results, that may have been more difficult to accomplish with manual massage alone.

  • Holding patterns – we all have ways we stand, carry our kids, our bags, driving and work positions, etc
  • Postural tension – our body is amazing at compensating when we have pain or tension but this creates long standing patterns that can get locked in
  • Cupping can be a way to interrupt these patterns and create more lasting release and give the body a chance to move differently.

During a massage I am able to find many areas of restriction and tension pretty easily but sometimes those areas can be a lot deeper, whether it’s really dense restricted fascia or deep knots in the muscle tissue. That is when I can bring in cups to help get deeper releases to those areas that seem too tense to finally loosen up. Also, there may be some clients who have a difficult time with deep tissue pressure and cups use negative pressure to alleviate tight and restricted areas. If you’re someone who gets massage on a regular basis and has only a limited amount of relief, cupping may be the key to getting the lasting results you’re after.

😍The other benefit of cupping is it allows for a more thorough all over massage experience. While the therapist has placed the cups on the most needed areas of the body and can take time in areas that might otherwise be missed giving a more fulfilling massage.

I have had clients in the past with pretty chronic tension and even being seen on a weekly basis didn’t seem to help with getting their body to respond to treatment even after months. Adding this protocol is totally dependent on the needs and ability of the client to have it done. I hope in the future you’ll consider giving cupping a try and see how it works for you!

Much love,

Monique and the Moment of Truth Team
