Core! It’s everything right? Supposed to be tight?

It’s our center, strength for our spine and more.

Critical for good posture and connected to our pelvic floor.

We need it to be strong and we need it now. It’s oh so important, but HOW?

Ok, maybe I’ve been watching The Grinch too much. But seriously, what is the deal with the millions of core exercises out there and who should do which ones and when? That said, there are a lot of good ones and a lot of right ways to challenge our core. My favorite thing about “Bicycle abs” is that it’s easy to control and keep good form while keeping up an appropriate level of difficulty. Check out the video below!

So as you can see, the main focus is back pressed into the floor and using speed, distance away and whether or not you include your upper body to add or remove difficulty. Remember to use your breath and cue (Click here to view that video) to optimally engage your muscles. Don’t overcook it by pulling your belly button in too far or tightening things down too much. Engaged, not locked down. Make sense? As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns about what may be the right exercises to get you back to the activities you love!
